I went on a guided tour, you don't really have a choice. If you're in the zone you have to be accompanied by an official guide.. To be honest, it was okay, but if you're fond of photography, you could get quite agitated because they only let you spend about 10minutes at each location and you can never wonder of a bit...
the 27th of april however, I've been told that it's open to anyone, like a memoration day. I'm thinking on going back next yar as well. It's really such an experience.
